Breaking News :Awkuzu Youths Clashes With Nigeria Police Force (FSARS) Over The Deaths Of Their Members

Two persons have been reported dead in Awkuzu, Oyi Local Government Area of Anambra State, following a clash between some members of the community and operatives of the reformed Federal Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS).

The clash, morningstarnaija.com confirmed , was ignited following the death of a young man who was riding a motorcycle in the night and was hit by the police van while evading arrest, resulting in his losing control of the bike.

It was learnt that another person whose identity could not be ascertained as at the time of filing this report was gunned down during a protest at Nteje Police Station over the death of the motorcyclist.

According Obika Chidiebele what reported earlier that the following  the clashes between the Awkuzu youths and the Nigerian Police Force, Oyi Division, over the death of an Okada man yesterday evening and the directive of the Governor of Anambra State to the Honourable Commissioner for Transport, Hon. Uchenna Okafor to restore peace in the community, Wiper met the angry youths which had overrun the police station, pulled them out of station and he is addressing them now.

No cause for alarm, the situation is under control

It much effort by a police reinforcement to reopen the Awkuzu part of the Enugu – Onitsha Expressway for vehicular movement.

Efforts to speak with the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) in charge of the area proved abortive even as the State Police Command in Awka is yet to respond to enquiries.
