UNIPORT Ignores Court Order And Demands That Graduated Students Return To Repeat Final Year + One Alleges Commits Suicide.
The University Of Port Harcourt has refused to let its 2016 set of graduates go…It is a sad story…..Please read and help spread this to anyone who can mediate ad broke a settlement………….#sad

According to the story,University of Port Harcourt Students ranging to over 1227 who graduated in 2016, had their names approved in the in the graduating list, published in the convocation brochure, done and finished clearance, and most of who have been issued certificates and has their names mobilize for NYSC in 2016 were asked to come back and repeat their final year because “ They PAID their school fees for that section LATE”.

According to the affected Students…

”The school management set that impromptu policy which led to the protest and death of a final year student by name Peter Ofurum on April 11th 2016. The school was shut down for that incident for over 3 months.

The fate of the students hung in thin air as the university’s directives that they should repeat class has kept them stagnant and confused. All attempts and several appeals to the university management to reverse that policy and let them go was proved abortive as the university gave no positive response but rather kept their fates hanging for over a year.

The students resorted to approach the judiciary which they recognize as the hope of the common man.

Luckily for us, we got in contact with our lawyers who had pity and took up the legal action without charging a dime. After all court proceedings within few months, Judgment was given and delivered in our Favour( attached is a copy of the judgment given by the Judge in the federal high court ).

The judgement contained that the university should mobilize us for NYSC, writhing 14 days, refund us our monies which include another 45k we were asked to pay to validate the one they termed as been paid late and also publish apologies in 2 national dailies.

Out of respect for our alma matter we wrote to the university, through our lawyers suggesting a waiver for the refund of monies which amounts to over 65 million naira and also the apologies, For our certificates to be issued for those who haven’t been issued and also for all to be mobilized for NYSC.

The management of the school through their lawyers agreed to negocaite with us to that effect but since nov. 21, 2018 when the judgment was given till now, the university and its lawyers has kept on posting the process as a deliberate attempt to further aggravate things by delaying us more. We were even more shocked that the university has gone ahead to appeal the case at the appeal.

It’s now 3 years since we graduated and our fate still hanging yet to be decided at the appeal.

We wish to bring again to notice of the general public, the gross violation of the rule of law, administrative rascality and adjunct mis-conduct been perpetrated by the megalomaniac management of the university led by the vice chancellor.

Attached is the judgment and judgment orders and other relevant docs to verify our claims…The names of the plaintiffs withheld for security reasons”.

Matter Arising :Review And Advancement Of Our Political Jurisprudence In The Days Of Dr Rich Egenti (PhD); Matters Arising.

(1) Can an appeal panel report of the PDP NWC declare someone a winner of a primary and returned as candidate for the 2019 General election while a few people sitting in the living room cocort a result sheet, thereby sent another name to INEC ?

(11)Can a person who is not party to a ruling claim to have won a ruling he is not party to? PDP vs Rich Egenti & INEC was struck out for been incompetent thereby awarded rich Egenti & INEC 1million to be shared among them. How does that constitute a judgement in favor of ayika?

💧The PDP appeal was equally struck out as well as Rich Egenti suit at the lower Court.

(111) if the Appellant appeal ,the lower court suit and everything was struck out, what then is the status quo?

(1V)Could the status quo be the PDP appeal panel report of the NWC declaring Egenti winner and returned as candidate for the 2019 election or the forwarding of Ayika,s name to INEC which inec refused to upload on the ballot up to the election of 23rd Feb 2019!

(V)If a returning officer of the an election PROF RAPHAEL NNAJI FOR OKIGBO refuses to declare a name against PDP 3days after a general election ; who has the power to decide who the candidate is? Is it the tribunal , political party or INEC ?

(VI) Which is final between an appeal panel report of the NWC of a party or a concorted result sheet at a primary election? Can the NWC of a political party be talking from two sides of it’s mouth? At one end declared someone winner and candidate and in another instance send another person’s name to INEC?

The tribunal shall tell us the answer!

(VII) Is there a material difference between struck out and dismissed in law ???? Can you refile another suit if your former suit was struck out cos you didn’t file on time within 14days of your cause of action or you are banned for life from refiling especially where the parties in the new suit are different and when the supreme Court didn’t decide who the PDP candidate was? The tribunal shall tell us.

(VIII) Can a candidate who was not declared winner by INEC represented by a returning officer turn arround and issue a certificate of return to same candidate 5days after a general election without recourse to the circumstances leading up to the election.

(IX) Can a political party which came 2nd approach a court for redress especially where no candidate was declared winner in PDP who won the election ?

Why did the returning officer not declare a name in front of PDP as the winner of the election?

The decision of the returning officer in all matters election is final until changed by a competent court or tribunal

(X) The political jurisprudence of DNA shall be enhanced after the learned men of the tribunal proffers answer to the puzzles and the answer may send shock wave in anambra politics for years to come. The students of politics shall dwell on these postulations as we patiently await the answers in weeks to come.

I am Mbanugo Onyeka Nelson (Chief Priest) Reporting From Awka.

I Will Come And Testify That Richard Egenti Won DNA PDP PRIMARY ELECTION-Pharma ike chinedu klinsmann

I have been getting numerous calls concerning the PDP stand-off in Anaocha/Njikoka/Dunukofia Fed Constituency after the PDP primaries and this is my position for the records.

You see, God has his own way of fighting his battles.

Ayika thought that stealing the primary with money he paid to the state PDP leadership will give him victory. His problem has not even started. We are still in Genesis

They don’t even know how to cheat, very fraudulent people (Val and his state PDP cohorts)

PDP sent a ballot paper from Abuja containing my real name Ikeagwuonwu Chinedu.

The mischevious fellows went to a business center in Awka and produced their own ballot paper writing Ikeagwuonwu klinsmann because that was the name on my poster as they don’t know my real name.

Val Ayika paid huge sum of money to the state PDP and they smuggled the ballot papers they marked for Val into our primary at Abagana and inserted many of them there. As far as I and my team are concerned, the PDP primaries at Abagana that day was inconclusive and the PDP appeal panel said so. That PDP primary did not produce any candidate that day and Valentine Ayika is a fraud.

Now God is coming to punish them. Onye buru chi ya Uzo ogbagbuo onwe ya n’oso

You see, I don’t want to join issue with their nonsense. I am a pharmacist and God has blessed me. I decided to focus on my profession and return back to Sweden and left everything in the hands of God

For our information, I Ikeagwuonwu chinedu KLINSMANN is supporting Richard Egenti 100%. If the tribunal calls me, I will come and testify that Richard Egenti won. You heard me right, yes Richard Egenti won, that was what PDP appeal told us after the primary

I went to appeal against Val Ayika with Richard Egenti and the PDP appeal panel declared Egenti winner of the primary and not Val Ayika and I am ready to spend millions of naira to send that intruder Ayika back to Enugwu ukwu period.

As far as I am concerned Richard Egenti won and he will defeat Ayika at the tribunal. Amen

Meet Aghahowa Beth, She Is A Nurse And A Furniture Maker

A Nigerian lady identified as Aghahowa Beth on Facebook has many social media users in awe after proving that she is in fact, a superwoman.

The young lady who is a nurse shared photos of herself doing furniture work and revealed that she is not only a caregiver but also a furniture maker, a proud feminist and graphic designer. She stated all of her competences and many immediately believed that the sky is truly the limit for anyone. Gone are the days when certain things are regarded as a man’s job. These days, women are beginning to find value in getting their hands dirty and creating unique things.

One of such women is the multi-talented Beth, whose approach to life and business is nothing short of inspiring.

From the photo, Beth, can make beautiful bed frames, using quality products and has demystified the myth that women cannot do such energy-draining work.

DNA federal constituency The real truth!

(1) primary Election was held on 3rd Oct 2018 at abagana but prior to that the state chairman of PDP had changed the returning officer of the primary purportedly to favour valentine ayika.

The initial venue of the election was also changed to favour Ayika. The purported delegate list was also changed to favour Ayika as well. There were multiple thump printing of ballot papers , multiple voting and vote buying by the Njikoka delegates.

Thereafter Hon Egenti ,Hon Adilieje and Hon kinsman discovered that the primary was actually taking place at another location in abagana with the proper delegate list. At the end of voting Egenti won the election

Val Ayika having paid his way through with the state chapter of the party had his way.

Dr Egenti quickly petitioned the Electoral Appeal panel set up by the NWC of the party
It is also important to note that Hon klinsman also petitioned the appeal panel of PDP complaining bitterly that there was a kangaroo primary conducted by the state chapter of pdp where vote buying and multiple thump printing was the order of day
The NWC appeal panel investigated all the petitions and interviewed delegates including the other contestants who participated in the primary election and released it’s report and findings.

That report was called the Anambra state electoral appeal panel report Of the NWC of PDP, reported categorically declared Dr Rich Egenti the winner of the primary and recommended that he be returned as candidate of the party

It’s important to note that the Constitution of PDP abrogated the powers of the NWC through NEC to the Electoral Appeal panel report as final in all matters concerning primary election.

Ayika then came up with an idea: that the only way out for him was to discredit the candidacy of Dr Rich Egenti by brandishing him as been sponsored by onye-ndozi the apga candidate and sitting house MEMBER.

The idea worked and quickly sold the idea to the hierarchy of the party including his Excellency Gov Peter Obi.
His satanic idea worked temporarily in the interim but God ruleth over the affairs of men.

Dr Egenti quickly approached the courts wherein the court affirmed that Egenti was the candidate who won the election and should by returned as authentic candidate of the PDP by virtue of the NWC appeal panel report.

The pdp party hierarchy having bought the idea tried endlessly to overturn their own appeal panel report .

PDP in their usual impunity and disobedience to court orders refused to forward Egenti,s name to INEC

INEC quickly countered with a remark- to PDP that they have a court order suggestive that Dr Egenti be declared winner and issued with the certificate of return but your failure to forward Egenti,s name we “INEC ” shall leave the space blanck until further notice.
Ayika was never a party in the case that PDP appealed up to the supreme Court. So how could the supreme Court have declared him winner??

That case as litigated is on ayikas Facebook.

It is important to correct the false narrative papetrated by ayika that he got judgement from the supreme Court in his favor.

Now on another falsehood by ayika the supreme Court in that ruling said the PDP appeal is hereby struck out and other suits equally struck out.

It is clearly written ; PDP vs Richard Egenti & INEC

That Egenti,s case filed on 18th Oct was 2days outside the time; is equally struck out.
So it means no pronouncement was made on who was the PDP candidate to represent DNA at the 9th assembly.

Now what is the import of that ruling because the supreme Court struck even the PDP appeal.

There is a difference between struck out and dismissed in law.

Remember that in all these legal and political permutations the NWC appeal panel report is still subsisting.

The law is trite that when a case is struck out you are permitted to refile but if the Apex court had dismissed the case; you can’t refile.

That report declared Dr Richard Egenti winner and candidate of PDP.

Since INEC is a law abiding agency of govt they refused to heed to PDP numerous letters asking them not to obey the appeal panel report but rather accept whatever candidate they forwarded to inec.

It’s law that Dr Richard Egenti is deemed to have been on the ballot on election day of 23rd Feb and having won the election since it’s the party that canvasses for votes Egenti should have been given the certificate of return.

The returning OFFICER professor Raphael nnajiofor okigbo having not seen Egenti,s name decided to pronounce PDP winner without writing or mentioning the name of the candidate.

Now this pronouncement can only be made by a court or tribunal because the time for political parties to forward the names of candidate had elapsed.

This confusion and beligrence of PDP in refusing to forward Egenti,s name based on the satanic propaganda by ayika and his cohorts brought us to this juncture in DNA history
Despite all pressures to get him pronounce ayika as winner proved ABORTIVE.

Under the guidance of David Axelrod who was a one time president Obama campaign manager

The satanic propaganda of valentine ayika will hit him on the face once the tribunal proclaims that ayika was never the PDP candidate abinito and shouldn’t have been given the certificate of return and if such cert had been issued in error should be nullified and reissued to Dr Egenti

The suspension was not unconnected to accusations of blatant anti-party activities; leading of bandits to intimidate fellow party officials, withholding and embezzlement of funds meant for campaigns and others, his clear mobilization of people for his new found party and love – the PDP and threat to persons who refuses to join him in his new party.

Anambra APC Reps Candidate Congratulates Winner

Mr Elijah Onyeagba, Candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for Anaocha, Dunukofia and Njikoka Federal Constituency has congratulated Mr Valentine Ayika on his victory.

Elijah in a statement issued in Awka on Tuesday said he was accepting the outcome of the contest as the decision of the people of the area.

He said electoral contests were like sports where winners and losers would always emerge and urged the winners to use their mandate for the good of those who elected them.

“I heartily congratulate my brother and friend Hon. Valentine Ayika on his victory at the just-concluded elections.

“Our people have spoken clearly and the outcome must be respected by all the key actors.

“Today you have won and I say a big well done to you and your team,’’ he said.

Onyeagba used the opportunity to thank the people of Anaocha, Dunukofia and Njikoka for their support while the campaigns lasted, saying that he respected their decision at the polls.

“I thank everyone who supported me especially the members of my campaign team.

NIPR: It’s Criminal Offence To Appoint Spokespersons Without Certification

The Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) says it is a criminal offence to appoint spokespersons without certification in public relations.

The organisation has also threatened to take legal action against public and private organisations that fail to appoint public relations professionals as spokespersons.

A statement by Stanley Ogadigo, NIPR Public Relations Officer, issued on Tuesday in Abuja, noted that there were skills to acquire before a person can function optimally as a spokesperson.

Quoting Muhktar Sirajo, the NIPR President, the statement read: “There are laid down rules about appointing spokespersons; the law establishing NIPR makes it a criminal offence for anybody to practise public relations by whatever name without certification or licensed by NIPR.

“There are set parameters of knowledge you need to acquire before you can practice public relations. The law actually provides for imprisonment, fine, or both.

“Unfortunately, the government too does not come clean in respect of this. Most of the people government appoints to be spokespersons are in violation of this very important creed.

“The government is either unaware of, or has forgotten that there is a law that says you cannot practice Public Relations, PR, without licence from the NIPR. In essence, the government too cannot appoint a spokesperson if that person is not licensed by the NIPR.”

In the statement published by NAN, he also noted that the organisation was doing well in the fight against quackery.

For those who required certification, the NIPR President stated that they can take advantage of a professional training programme to regularise their membership of the body.

“We have sought audience with the Attorney General of the Federation, because part of the provisions of the law is that the Attorney General is supposed to establish a tribunal that is to try and punish people found to be practising PR without licensing from the NIPR.

“The NIPR leadership in its wisdom introduced Master Class programme, a window of opportunity for people who have been practising PR for minimum of five years without licensing as part of measures to ensure that those holding executive and other high-profile positions in both public and private sectors do not end up being embarrassed when the hammer falls.

“We are educating, enlightening and making advocacy visits to let the people, especially those that matter, know that they are further killing the system by compromising professionalism. As long as square pegs are not put in square holes, we will continue to have this and even worse problems.”

N30,000 as the new national minimum wage.

The approval was agreed upon during the plenary session on Tuesday.

The House also adopted the report of the ad hoc committee which was set up to look into the bill earlier presented by President Muhammadu Buhari.

On Monday, a public hearing was held on the minimum wage bill, during which stakeholders presented various positions on the adoption of a new minimum wage figure.

Two clauses, however, exist. First, it takes effect from the date the President gives assent. Secondly, based on an earlier clause, companies with less than 25 people are excluded from being covered by the provisions of the bill.

The bill has been referred to the necessary committees for action, as well as the Senate.

The House of Representatives, afterwards, adjourned plenary till February 19, 2019.

The Fall Of Hon Dozie Nwankwo, The Coquette In DNA Federal Constituency-Mbanugo Onyeka Nelson

Coquettes like Hon Dozie Nwankwo are hiding behind High Sen Victor Umeh and Hon Lawrence Ezeudu, to perpetuate their stranglehold on Dunukofia Constituency and it is a sad development. Like grand masters of the game , the coquettishly orchestrate a back-and-forth movement between hope and frustration to the bewilderment of the masses.

Hon Dozie Nwankwo baits with promise of reward during his campaign in 2015 general election , the hope of physical pleasure, happiness, fame by association, power-all of which , however, proves elusive; yet this only makes their targets pursue them more.

Coquettes appear self-sufficient. They do not need you, they seem to say, and their narcissism proves devilishly attractive.

You want to conquer them but they hold the cards. The strategy of the coquette is never to offer total satisfaction.

Imitate the alternating heat and coolness of the coquette and you will keep the seduced at their heels.

A famous author of a classical book assisted me in describing who Hon Dozie Nwankwo is and his mission to use the influence of High Sen Victor Umeh, Hon Lawrence Ezeudu, Hon Uche Umerie to deceive our local government and also to Re-elect him for second tenure, by telling us that 2023 is the turn of Dunukofia.

The gods of Dunu na Okofia are highly against Hon Dozie Nwankwo.

Confession is always weakness. The grave soul keeps its own secrets, and takes its own punishment in silence.

At St Mary’s high school Ifitedunu, Dunukofia LGA, during Able Gov Willie Obiano Thank you Tour visit, High Sen Victor Umeh, Hon Lawrence Ezeudu were boldly to explain to us their laudable and verifiable projects spiced with practical attention to human development in every town within the constituency but Hon Dozie Nwankwo was seen looking like a dumb and deaf person, simple because he failed to deliver dividends of Democracy to our people. What a Coquettes like Hon Dozie Nwankwo.

Some days ago at Dunukofia LGA Secretariat Ukpo, he was bold enough to say that NAWGU and Umudioka are the only two communities that he didn’t execute any projects. Ever since then I have called the other four communities leader to verify his projects and was amazed that ONYE NDOZI has done nothing in Dunukofia.

I will await your coming tomorrow at umudioka, I strongly believe that Umudioka will use their PVC to retire you from politics.

Let’s see what you will vomite to our at Ilo mkpukpa,if I am your shoe (Hon Dozie Nwankwo), I will boycott Umudioka for this campaign , knowing very well that they will not vote for u because you failed woefully.

Umudioka being the Country Home of the Catholic Chief priest, Hon Dozie Nwankwo is clothed with shame because shame is an ornament of the young; a disgrace of the old, shame that arises from praise which we do not deserve often makes us do things we should otherwise never have attempted.   HON Dozie Nwankwo is disgrace to Ndi Umudioka, Dunukofia and entire DNA Federal Constituency.

There is no better than adversity. Every defeat, every heartbreak, every loss, contains its own seed, its own lesson on how to improve your performance the next time.

The worst part of it is that the Coquette Hon Dozie Nwankwo said some months ago that no man born out a woman from Dunukofia Kingdom will stop his selfish ambition to represent DNA Federal Constituency in 2019,he ended up by insulting the dynasty of Dunukofia.

Dunukofia are going to vote Hon Elijah Onyeagba and Dr Richard Egenti because there tremendous developments so far in Dunukofia.

I remember How your Coordinator Hon Bertrand Nwankwo cried bitterly at his ward in Ifitedunu until the adopted political son Of Gov Willie Obiano came and rescued you.

Umunnachi,Even almighty BUDGET ACHIKE-ONUA will not save you

NAWGU :Igwe NAWGU has instructed his people to use their PVC and retire and healing center will also do the same.
The same applicable to Ukpo, IFITEDUNU AND UKWULU.

Bad things do happen; how I respond to them defines my character and the quality of my life. I can choose to sit in perpetual sadness, immobilized by the gravity of my loss, or I can choose to rise from the pain and treasure the most precious gift I have – life itself.

Let’s use Our PVC to Retire Hon Dozie Nwankwo.

HURIWA Demands Buhari Impeached For Suspending Onnoghen

However, a statement by Comrade Emmanuel Onwubiko and Miss Zainab Yusuf, the National Coordinator and National Media Affairs Director of HURIWA, respectively, quoted Section 292 of the Nigerian Constitution which does not expressly distinguishe between “temporary removal (suspension) from a permanent removal (sack)”.

According to the provisions of the 1999 Constitution, the CJN can only be removed with the knowledge of the National Assembly — the removal must be approved by two-thirds majority of the National Assembly.

Portraying HURIWA’s contrary position to the President’s decision to suspend the CJN, the statement read: “The power to remove is different and is even more stringently interpreted in employments with statutory flavor as in this case, but we have not even begun to talk about the power of removal. Granted that the CCT may have a constitutional role in the removal of the CJN going by a wholistic reading of the above provisions, but there is no statutory provision that clothes the CCT with power to order the CJN or any person appearing before it to step aside or recommend that the President should suspend the CJN or anyone appearing before it.

“Such a procedure amounts to denying the CJN or whoever has been subjected to such treatment by the CCT, his constitutionally guaranteed presumption of innocence and is an imposition of punishment by the CCT even before it has made a finding of guilt (which finding is even appealable to the Court of Appeal). Even after finding a person such as the CJN guilty of a contravention against the Code of Conduct the Constitution strictly lists the punishments it can impose on the guilty party (subject to his right of appeal) and the listed punishments do not include suspension or recommendation for suspension. It is putting the cart before the horse, and a violation of the rights of the accused to a fair trial, to suspend him from office while he is undergoing trial before your court when you are not his employer who has initiated disciplinary proceedings against him.

“The suspension of the CJN by the president under whatever guise constitutes a constitutional infringement of the principle of separation of powers and a usurpation of the disciplinary powers of the NJC enshrined in the Constitution. The power of removal granted under the constitution not being an absolute power but one predicated on specified conditions and requiring the participation of other actors alongside the President, does not include the power to unilaterally suspend which is under of the disciplinary powers of the NJC.

“As we have always maintained the decision in the Nganjiwa case, in blurring the delicate lines between disciplinary and penal proceedings may have unwittingly contributed to the desperation that led to this monumental blunder in suggesting to the minds of those ignorant of the workings of the law, that the judiciary was hell-bent on protecting its corrupt members and shielding them from the reach of the law. While the current blunder is inexcusable, we can feel the reverberating effect of the Nganjiwa case in the spate of court orders and applications that has trailed this particular case and finally culminated in this desperate measure whether well motivated or ill motivated. In the final analysis, this ill-advised move has rendered nugatory whatever credibility there seemed to be in the initial revelation of undeclared asset by the CJN and transformed the case into one of ill-advised abuse of power. Two wrongs do not make a right.”

Breaking News:US ‘Deeply Concerned’ About Onnoghen’s ‘Unconstitutional’ Suspension

The United States Embassy has expressed “deep concern” over the suspension of Walter Onnoghen as the Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN).

This was contained in a statement issued on Saturday.

President Muhammadu Buhari had suspended Onnoghen on Friday, and Ibrahim Tanko Mohammed was sworn in as the acting Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN).

Onnoghen is standing trial over allegations of fraudulent declaration of assets.

The US Embassy questioned Buhari’s decision to suspend Onnoghen, without recourse to legislative arm of government.

The statement read: “The Embassy of the United States is deeply concerned by the impact of the executive branch’s decision to suspend and replace the Chief Justice and head of the judicial branch without the support of the legislative branch on the eve of national and state elections.

“We note widespread Nigerian criticism that this decision is unconstitutional and that it undermines the independence of the judicial branch. That undercuts the stated determination of government, candidates, and political party leaders to ensure that the elections proceed in a way that is free, fair, transparent, and peaceful — leading to a credible result.

“We urge that the issues raised by this decision be resolved swiftly and peacefully in accordance with due process, full respect for the rule of law, and the spirit of the Constitution of Nigeria. Such action is needed urgently now to ensure that this decision does not cast a pall over the electoral process.”

Our attentions has been drawn to the activities of fraudsters/rituals in Anambra state and it’s environs .

According to a young lady (Name withheld) a young man walked into her shop one hot afternoon in Awka the State capital and told her that the government of Anambra state was sharing mosquito nets and they where asked to go round the whole state and get the actual no of people in the state so to enable the government know the quantity of nets to be made available for distribution .
According to her, the man asked for a sheet of paper and a pen,he inscribed somethings on it, signed his signature and handed the paper over to her with instruction that she presents it to his colleagues when they get to her shop and two nets will be given to her..

Just about then he grabbed her hand brought out syringe and attempted to take her blood sample. She quickly withdraw her hand from him and asked him why she would need a blood sample before she could pick a net and he said the government wants a random check of individuals in Anambra state to know who is sick and that the result will come along with the net.
She refused, saying she just got tested . After serious arguments the man got angry and went away.

By this post I want to notify the general public that the government of Anambra state does not share mosquito net street by street, rather nets are distributed in health centre at a designated time and proper announcements are made using local town criers to notify the community.

Please share this post widely to warn others and please when such individuals is spotted anywhere around the state, hold them and report to the necessary authorities or hand over them over to the police.

Protest In Lagos Over ‘Obasanjo’s Plans To Install Interim Government’

A pro-democracy group has staged a rally in Lagos State against an alleged plot by former President Olusegun Obasanjo to install an interim government.

The protest was led by the Coalition for Defence of Democracy in Nigeria (CDDN).

The group claimed it had credible intelligence that Obasanjo’s political allies were hell-bent on making the country ungovernable.

CDDN, therefore, called on the Nigerian Government to “drop its tolerant attitude and put pressure on Obasanjo to immediately call off all the attacks planned against the interests of Nigeria”.

Speaking on behalf of the coalition, Rachel Okpara, the Executive Director of CDDN, appealed to the international community to call Obasanjo, Atiku and other incendiary members of the opposition to order “before they sink the nation”.

She said: “We are telling the world that there is credible intelligence that a former president, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, is the one that hatched the plan to destroy the country in conjunction with his political allies. It was for this reason that Obasanjo released his so called ‘Points for Concern and Action’, a document that has now been confirmed as intended to incite Nigerians as a precursor to the orgy of violence that his co-planners will unleash on the country.

“We are also asserting that more than the emergence of an interim government that the Federal Government refers to, Obasanjo, Atiku Abubakar who is the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential candidate, and other opposition elements have their sight on an outright coup to overthrow Nigeria’s democracy. It is for this reason that Obasanjo returned to his vomit after vowing that God will never forgive him if he ever supported Atiku.

“CDDN is not going to adopt the tolerant indifference that the Federal Government is showing to a threat of this magnitude, which with all certainty will throw the nation into chaos. The Federal Government might be worried about being described as clamping down on dissent and the opposition, but we have no such political tight-rope balancing to do. We see things from the perspective of the immediate and long-term impact on citizens. The safety of Nigerians is superior to whatever offices could be won or lost by officials of the Federal Government.

“He has links to Boko Haram, Terwase Akwaza (Gana), the miscreants in Kano and the Nigerien mercenaries; he should be persuaded to reel them in so that Nigeria is not plunged into crisis. The Federal Government omitted to mention them, but we are aware that the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), a designated terror organisation, and militants in the Niger Delta have been contacted by a particular running mate to a presidential candidate to carry out the destabilisation in the South-East and South-South.

“CDDN hereby puts the groups that have been contracted to carry out these attacks on notice. The will of Nigerians towers above their capacity for evil and the supremacy of the Nigerian state and its capacity to respond to the threat they pose is not in doubt. They have the obvious option of backing down and calling their assigned mission off now before it is too late, because Nigerians will support the government to unleash the full strength of the state against these threats, even if it means embarking on emergency conscription to defeat evil.

“We appeal to the international community to call Obasanjo, Atiku and other incendiary members of the opposition to order. They should be held responsible since they are the ones that have been propping up the groups and individuals named in the planned attacks. The international community must make it clear to these elements that any contraption that emerges from truncation of Nigeria’s democracy will not be accepted. They should prevail on Obasanjo and his ilk to desist from the plot to throw Nigeria into chaos.”

Breaking News : Buhari Suspends Onnoghen, Swears In Tanko Mohammed As Acting CJN

President Muhammadu Buhari has suspended the Chief Justice of Nigeira (CJN), Justice Walter Onnoghen, pending the completion of his trial at the Code of Conduct Tribunal.

The President announced the suspension at the Council Chamber of the Presidential Villa, Abuja, on Friday.

He said the action followed the order of the CCT directing him to suspend Onnoghen, pending the completion of his trial.

The President consequently swore in Justice Ibrahim Tanko Mohammed as the acting Chief Justice of Nigeria.

Mohammed who hails from Bauchi state is the most senior Justice of the Supreme Court.

EXCLUSIVE: How Onnoghen Postponed NJC Meeting Indefinitely For Fear Of Being Suspended

fears he could be suspended by the council.

The NJC held its 87th meeting on October 3 and October under the chairmanship of Onnoghen. At the end of the meeting, it recommended the appointment one Supreme Court Justice, three chief judges, three other judges of state high courts and a judge each for the Sharia Court of Appeal and the Customary Court of Appeal. The 88th meeting was to hold on Tuesday January 15, 2019.

But days earlier, the Code of Conduct Bureau (CCB) had slammed fraudulent asset declaration charges against the CJN at the Code of Conduct Tribunal (CCT). Afraid that the NJC could suspend him because of this, Onnoghen — despite knowing that NJC members were already in Abuja for that purpose — postponed the meeting.

Notice of the postponement, served by Soji Oye, NJC’s Director of Information, read: “Sir/Ma, I am directed by The Honorable, The Chief Justice of Nigeria and Chairman of the National Judicial Council, Hon. Justice W. S. N. Onnoghen, GCON to inform you that the 88th Meeting of the Council slated for Tuesday 15th, January, 2019 has been postponed to a later date to be communicated to you.

“Any inconvenience this might cause you is highly regretted. Please, accept the assurances of the high regards of His Lordship, Hon. Justice W. S. N. Onnoghen, GCON.”

A source familiar with the development told SaharaReporters that Onnoghen took the step after advice from his lawyers, knowing the antecedent of the council.

“On June 15, 2018, the members of the National Judicial Council had assembled in Abuja to attend the statutory meeting if the body. To the surprise of the members the embattled Chief Justice of Nigeria, Justice Walter Onnoghen decided to postpone the meeting indefinitely,” he said.

“Even though no reason was adduced for the postponement of the meeting, Justice Onnoghen was not sure that the body would not suspend him until the conclusion of the case of false declaration of assets pending against him at the Code of Conduct Tribunal. The fear of Justice Onnoghen is not unfounded as the National Judicial Council has placed all judges who are on trial on suspension pending the conclusion of criminal cases filed against them as a result of the 2016 arrest of judges for corruption.

“Justice John Okoro of the Supreme Court was recalled from suspension because he was not charged with any offence while Justice Ugwuta has not been recalled from suspension. As Justice Onnoghen would have been interdicted if the National Judicial Council had met he was advised by his lawyers and close confidants in the judiciary to shift the meeting till a later date when the coast would become clear. The Chief Justice followed the advice and directed that the meeting be postponed.”

Onnoghen has shunned the two sittings of the CCT so far, the tribunal setting aside subsisting orders of a Federal High Court and the National Industrial Court (NIC) restraining it from proceeding with the case.

At the last sitting on Tuesday, Justice Danladi Umar, Chairman of the CCT, ruled that the order issued by the two courts directing the tribunal to discontinue the case are not binding on the tribunal.

He declared the orders null and void, holding that the tribunal was established by the constitution and could not be stopped by orders of the two courts.

He therefore ruled that the tribunal would proceed with the case, and he directed the defendant to move his preliminary application challenging the jurisdiction of the tribunal.

JUST IN: 34 Political Parties Adopt Atiku As Presidential Candidate.

Thirty-four political parties in Ogun State under the aegis of the Coalition of United Political Parties (CUPP) have adopted former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar, as their candidate for the February 16 presidential election.

Rising from an enlarged meeting held on Thursday at the Sagamu residence of Gbenga Daniel, a former Governor of Ogun State and Deputy Chairman of the PDP Presidential Campaign Council (South), the leadership of the political parties and their candidates at all levels unanimously agreed that the All Progressives Congress (APC) had failed in its electoral promises to the people.

They, thereafter, endorsed Atiku.

Addressing the gathering, which also had the representatives of Afenifere, the Pan-Yoruba socio-cultural group, the Igbo, Hausa and South-South communities, as well as the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW), Chief Razak Eyiowuawi, the National Chairman of the Peoples Party of Nigeria (PPN) and Assistant Secretary of the Steering Committee of CUPP, said the main aim of the body is to “save Nigeria from insecurity, violence and hardship which has become the order of the day and the only way out of the impending danger is to vote out the ruling party by coming together as one united front to usher in a new administration”.

Speaking on behalf of the Labour Party in Ogun, its former Chairman and House of Representatives candidate, Niyi Osoba, said it would be “shameful if APC returns to power under the leadership of President Muhammadu Buhari who has constantly exhibited lack of capacity to govern”.

In his remarks, Chief Tayo Onayemi, a former local government Chairman and a chieftain of the Alliance for Democracy (AD), stated that the “incompetence of the Buhari administration is very conspicuous as a government, which has been operating as a failure since inception which calls for a change”.

Other leaders of respective political parties took turns to speak at the occasion and charged their members to vote for Atiku.

In his remarks, Gbenga Daniel thanked the leadership of the coalition group for their support.

According to him, the current situation in the country calls for a radical departure from the status quo and this could only be achieved through collective efforts and engagement of all well-meaning Nigerians, irrespective of their political inclinations.

His words: “The coming election will be very close, hence everybody’s vote matters. What you have done today has further driven home the decision by 47 political parties throughout the federation which had earlier pledged their support for Atiku Abubakar at the national level.

“It will be recalled that the current government based its campaign on three major issues of provision of security, fighting corruption and improvement of the economy none of which they executed as we speak. Instead, they revised the fortunes of the country from one of the largest economies in the third world during former President Jonathan’s era to the poverty capital of the world according to global statistics.

“It has come to a stage where we have to rescue the country and this cannot be successfully done by one political party but a joint effort of all. It, therefore, becomes expedient to present a formidable united front to wrest power form the incumbent party, APC.

“The choice of Atiku as the  preferred candidate is germane because everybody will have a sense of belonging in the government of inclusiveness of the PDP under the watch of the former Vice President Atiku who has promised to restructure the country on assumption of office.”

Also present at the meeting were Chief Kunle Majekodunmi, the Chairman of Afenifere in Ogun State; Chief Ibukun Ojosipe, Ogun PDP Deputy Chairman and Gboyega Okenla, a lawyer.

‘Please Say Something’, Family Of Captain Missing Since Metele Attack Begs The Army

Relatives of Captain Ogbonna Akpa Nwota have raised the alarm over his whereabouts after the Boko Haram attack in Metele, Borno State, in November 2018.

Although the Army claimed only 23 soldiers were killed in the attack, security sources told SaharaReporters that more than 120 men, including soldiers and Civilian JTF members, had indeed been killed while about 200 more were still missing.

Nineteen of those soldiers wwre buried in December 2018. However, family members of Nwota of Amikpa, Umudomi, Onicha, in Onicha Local Government Area of Ebonyi State say Captain Nwota was in one of the units involved in the fight against Boko Haram in that attack.

Grace Nwota, a widow and mother of the soldier, who is in her 60s, lamented her frustration at not being able to say exactly what happened to her son.

“I am just praying to God to let this cup pass over me,” she told SaharaReporters.

“As you see me here, I am finished; my blood pressure has not come down since we heard of the attack in that place. Our problem now is that nobody is talking to us. Even our village union has gone to Enugu to see the Army people but they didn’t tell us anything. So, I’m begging that they should tell me if my son is dead or alive.

“I am also praying that nothing bad should happen to my son, because his children are still very small and I don’t want my daughter-in-law to suffer my fate because my husband died very early in our marriage.”

Similarly, Chief Agom Okorie, Chairman of ADU, stated that a letter had been forwarded to the Nigerian Army on December 19, 2018, but they had not received any positive feedback on the matter.

His wife, Nneka, said the last time she spoke to her husband was in August 2018.

Meanwhile, the family through its counsel, Ugochukwu Ezekiel-Hanks of E.H. Ugochukwu Chambers, has written to the Army on the soldier’s whereabouts, but he has not received any feedback.

According to a family member, Nwota should have gone to the Command and Staff College, Jaji, this month, but was sent on special posting to the North-East. He is also said to have been in the North-East region for four years, participating in the battle against insurgency.

Dr. Laz Ude Eze, a family friend to the Nwota’s, also confirmed the report to SaharaReporters.

Noting that the soldier had not been heard from since November 18, 2018, Eze said: “I know Captain Nwota and his family personally. We attended GSS Afikpo together. The pain the family and his loved ones have gone through over the past two months is better imagined than experienced. The silence of the military authorities is sheer wickedness, to say the least! Captain Nwota and no soldier or the family deserve to be treated this way.”

NEWS ON THE HOUR:The Fall Of Hon Dozie Nwankwo.

Curiosity they say, killed the cat. Out of wanting to know the feud that has been in existence between a certain young man @Elochukwutulu💯 and the house member representing Njikoka, Dunukofia and Anaocha federal constituency, we have been able to uncover why it seems like the local government, which houses one of the richest man in Africa has been neglected and relegated to the back set of affairs.

Don’t make excuses for why you can’t get it done. Focus on all the reasons why you must make it happen.

This particular young man has metamorphosed into what can be described as a voice of resistance. After some investigation, we gathered that majority of people in not just Dunukofia but Anaocha and Njikoka feels the way the young man is feeling, to them change of leadership is the only remedy.

When reporters tried getting access to the House of the honorable member, we were met with stiff resistance, but after some clarification, access was granted.

During the chat that lasted for about thirty minutes, we were told that the young man in question, who hails from Umudioka, in Dunukofia local government Area was either after personal fame or maybe he is dancing to the tone of some stakeholders in the Federal constituency, who is using him to get to me.

But let me send a message to them, tell them that i am not afraid of them, they conspiracy will not harm him, initially, i have wanted to ignore him and deal with him after the election, but is even better to let them know, i know. Some ,who are Stakeholders within and outside the party are secretly and Publicly planing to humiliate me in the upcoming election, I know the people of Dunukofia are complaining, but they should understand that Charity begins at home, that’s one thing i learnt from my in-law. But come to think of this, don’t this people have State house of Assembly members?
What have they been doing?
If I do everything, then what will be they contributions?

Go to Nawfia for example, the house member representing Njikoka 1 constituency is from there, can’t he take care of just three towns?

Or that of Njikoka 2 constituency, what are they doing?

Dunukofia is one constitency yes, but i expect the house member representing them to be working before getting me involved. I don’t even want to mention Anaocha. This pretence must stop!

They should understand that i sincerely don’t need Dunukofia local government Area to win this election.

I have the voters register, I know where to concentrate.
Dunukofia has not enough vote to decide my lose!

I don’t blame him, last year, he went on to publish some documents he shouldn’t have had access to ordinarily , if not that some big wigs are behind him, i have been watching, non of his people wants to talk, they are all silent, pretending not to see the damage he is causing, no problem time will tell.

Efforts made to reach @Elochukwutulu💯 wasn’t fruitful as calls put forward to him were not answered or returned.

Appeal Court upholds Dr Richard Egenti PDP candidacy For DNA Federal Constituency

The Court of Appeal, Abuja Division has upheld the candidacy of Dr Richard Egenti as DNA Federal representation for PDP.

Read The Full Judgement!

Justice ige , Justices kutigi and Justice Ada justices of the court of Appeal Abuja division unanimously delivered a ruling on the motion for dismissal filed by counsel to Dr Richard Egenti, earlier today

In that motion counsel to Dr Egenti argued that the notice of appeal filed by the national legal adviser to PDP Barr emoiden should be dismissed for been incompetent. He argued that the judgement of the lower court transmitted by ayika and PDP were fake and unsigned.

Therefore court querried them on why they should transmit a fake judgement of the lower court? And of Which the counsel of Ayika argued that it was the real judgement of the lower court.

However counsel to Dr Egenti filed a 27 paragraph counter affidavit with the real judgement of the lower court which was different from the fake judgement transmitted by ayika and pdp

Dr Egenti,s counsel relied on the latest supreme Court authority in the matter of fCdA staff multipurpose cooperative society vs samchi & others citation 2018:
LPELR -44380. CA

It says and I quote’

“The position of the law is trite and tested that an unsigned and undated judgement is null and void and of no effect whatsoever, it’s simple.9The court has no more interest if the parties chose to rely on an invalid document”

Also counsel to Dr Egenti cited akpan vs fbn plc 2018 )10 NWLR pt 1628.581 .CA

It stated that “the proper order where a record of appeal are incomplete, once established is for the court to strike out the appeal for been incompetent”.

The court agreed with counsel to Dr Rich Egenti and dismissed the PDP & ayika appeal for been incompetent.

The substantive suit was not debated for their appeal was dismissed for been incompetent as their entire appeal was predicated on a fake and unsigned judgement of the lower court transmitted to the court of appeal.

PDP & ayika cannot file a fresh notice of appeal because time has elapsed to file a fresh appeal going by the new amended Nigeria Constitution which allows appeal to be filed not more than 14days from the date the judgement of the lower court was issued.

The judgement of the lower court was issued Oct 31st 2018.

Hence he has up till 14th November 2018 to appeal against the judgement of the high Court.

Confirming the story, Dr Richard Egenti said it was a substantiation of his position all along that the good people of DNA Federal Constituency people believe he has Ability to represent the at Green Chamber.

He also said that the judgement was concise , perfect and we’ll thought out, It is the work of the world aclaimed legal minds.

He also called on Hon Valentine Ayika to take the decision of the Court of Appeal in good faith and join hands with him to clench the seat come 2019 general elections for the betterment of DNA Federal Constituency.

Let’s Get DNA Federal Constituency, Nigeria working Again.

Thugs Disrupted TraderMoni In Ilorin.

Suspected Hoodlums yesterday invaded the Mandate Market in Ilorin, Kwara State, to disrupt the disbursement of money to beneficiaries of the TraderMoni.

They scared away petty traders and agents of the scheme.

As early as 9am, the suspected hoodlums stormed the Mandate Market, insisting that the TraderMoni scheme cannot be implemented in the market built on a land donated to the state government by the Senate President Bukola Saraki’s father, the late Olusola Saraki.

It was not clear whether they were sent by anyone or whether they were mere party zealots, working on their own.

According to witnesses, including Bank of Industry (BOI) officials who were at the market to supervise the enumeration and disbursement of the N10, 000 collateral free loans, the arrival of the mob at Mandate Market caused some uproar.

The suspected thugs also intimidated the petty traders who had lined up to participate in the programme. Many of the traders were palpably annoyed and refused to leave the market. Calm was restored with the intervention of the police.

At the Ipata Market, where enumeration and disbursement of the TraderMoni loans were also going on, market leaders reportedly rebuffed pressure from some officials of the state, urging them to shun the enumerators. The programme went on without incident.

Officials of the Bank of Industry (BoI) told reporters that enumeration had been going on in the two markets in Kwara State in the last few days, without incident until yesterday.

Vice President Yemi Osinbajo is expected in the markets today.

TraderMoni, which is part of the Federal Government’s Social Investment Programme (N-SIP) under GEEP, is designed to assist petty traders across the country expand their trade through the provision of collateral and interest-free loans from N10, 000.

The loans are repayable over a period of six months at which point the traders on repayment will receive a fresh N15, 000 loan, which rises to N20, 000 when repaid.

The microcredit scheme, which has since been formally launched nationwide and the FCT, is expected to reach two million petty traders by the end of the year.

Igbo In North Banned From Travelling Over 2019 Polls

People of Igbo extraction in the 19 northern states have been banned from travelling to their states of origin to vote in next year’s general elections. Any person who flouts the directive would be fined an undisclosed amount of money. The decision was reached following an extraordinary meeting of the Igbo Delegates Assembly (IDA) in Barnawa, Kaduna State. IDA, an administrative umbrella organisation of Igbo resident in the northern states and Abuja, is responsible for members’ welfare. In attendance were executives, all Eze Igbos and chapter presidents in the 19 states.

“We want our people to stay in their respective states and cast their votes. The era of running home during elections cannot be tolerated again. There is no need for us to go home at every election because if you do that you will automatically disenfranchise yourself.

“We have done a lot of sensitisation. We have also educated our people on this and we all agreed. That is why we decided to place an embargo. And if you travel, IDA will fine such person(s),” the organisation said in a statement jointly signed by President General Chief Chikezie Nwogu and Secretary General Austin Ofokansi Ifedinezi. The Assembly also urged members to remain law-abiding in their states of residence.

A non-governmental organisation, the African Electoral Integrity Initiative (AE2i) meanwhile has unveiled ways to guarantee integrity in the elections. This was at the National Conference on Electoral Integrity it organised in Abuja yesterday with the theme: ‘Sustaining the Integrity of the 2019 General Elections.’

Prof. Yusuf Zoaka, Dean Faculty of Social Science, University of Abuja, in his presentation titled, ‘Principles of Electoral Integrity’, said a good election is hinged on fairness and a level playing ground for all.

Zoaka, who was represented by Dr Agaba Halidu, a lecturer at the university, also listed ethical conduct, professionalism and accuracy as criteria for successful polls. He maintained that for Nigeria to have an election with integrity, factors such as enforcement, transparency and respect for the rule of law must be upheld. He advised politicians to shun hate speeches that could breed violent campaigns, and INEC to remain impartial to avoid voter apathy and rejection of results.

Mr. Mohammed Baba, Commissioner in charge of Education at the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC), said vote buying has become a threat to democracy, hence all efforts must be made to curb it. He disclosed that ICPC would embark on a nationwide sensitisation programme this month to change people’s attitude towards the practice.

Dr Daniel Omofoman, Convener and Regional Director (West Africa) of AE2i, said: “The conference is aimed at sensitising stakeholders to the need to sustain the integrity of the 2019 elections and restoring voter confidence in the integrity of officials, voting procedure and materials used in the election. We believe more is coming on solutions that will resolve these issues,”

He added that other issues threatening the integrity of the elections include underage voting, fake news and partisan law enforcement. But President Muhammadu Buhari yesterday in Abuja gave the assurance that the result of the 2019 general elections would reflect the will of the people.

He made the promise while receiving a letter of credence from the ambassador of Finland to Nigeria, Dr Jyrki Juhani Pulkkinen. He said Nigerians reserve the right to elect their leaders and that all efforts would be made to safeguard the integrity of the process. “I respect the people’s feelings,” he said, adding: “I assure all that we will have a free and fair election next year.”

Buhari congratulated Finland on its 101 Independence Day anniversary, marked yesterday. He commended the country’s growing relations with Nigeria, especially in the areas of Information Communication Technology (ICT), trade and education.

In his remarks, Pulkkinen noted that areas of mutual benefit could be extended to electricity, smart technology and crises management initiatives, pointing out he would work hard to improve trade figures and exchanges. “We will like to contribute to Africa rising. We know that Nigeria is the biggest country on the continent, so we are very interested in its growth,” he said.

He promised that at the United Nations, Finland would continue to support the restructuring of multilateral institutions, giving greater roles to African countries like Nigeria.

The president, who also received a letter of credence from the ambassador of France, Mr. Jerome Pasquier, described the visit to Nigeria by French President Emmanuel Macron as impressive and a booster to bilateral relations. Admitting that “France is investing so much in Nigeria and we are grateful,” he nevertheless called for more support in the fight against terrorism as fighters increasingly cross the borders to support insurgents.

Pasquier responded saying Macron would continue to support Nigeria, especially in the ongoing war against terrorism, with specific interest in the gathering and sharing of intelligence. He also commended Nigeria’s role in resolving the crises in Togo and Guinea Bissau.

Buhari equally received a letter of credence from the ambassador of the Czech Republic, Mr. Marek Skolil, to whom he gave an assurance of improved economic relations in solid minerals exploration.

Skolil, on his part, said his country would continue to support Nigeria’s military in the fight against terrorism in the northeast. “Nigeria is a very important country for us. We look forward to stronger ties, particularly with the armed forces,” he said.
